Mövenpick Istanbul Bosphorus to Expand Capacity to 260 Rooms

The luxury hotel in Beşiktaş will increase capacity within its existing structure, without new construction.

Located in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district, Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul Bosphorus is set to increase its room count from 241 to 260 under a new expansion project. The plan, which has received a positive outcome from the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, will be realized through functional space transformation rather than new construction.

Existing Structure + Smart Planning = New Capacity

Led by Yasemin Turizm A.Ş., the project will preserve the current building’s architecture. Instead of adding new floors or extensions, several spaces such as meeting rooms and storage areas will be restructured to create:

  • 14 standard twin rooms
  • 2 four-bed apartments
  • 3 twin-bed apartment rooms

With these additions, the hotel’s total room count will reach 260, and its bed capacity will increase to 524 (from the current 241 rooms and 484 beds). The total project investment has been announced as ₺9,974,306.

Strategic Advantage: Growth Without Construction

Unlike traditional hotel expansion models, Mövenpick’s project focuses on restructuring rather than building. By repurposing existing areas to create new guest rooms, the hotel minimizes construction costs while optimizing energy infrastructure and technical systems.

This approach represents a model of rapid, sustainable, and cost-efficient growth, combining short implementation time with responsible resource use and improved operational efficiency.

In short, Mövenpick is pursuing an “intelligent expansion” strategy—boosting revenue capacity without physical enlargement.

Mövenpick and the Dynamics of Istanbul’s Luxury Hotel Market

Overlooking the Bosphorus, Mövenpick Bosphorus stands at the intersection of urban tourism and luxury accommodation. With this capacity expansion, the hotel aims to better meet Istanbul’s rising demand for premium stays.

The addition of new room types will diversify the guest profile and enhance revenue potential—especially during high season when occupancy rates peak.

According to industry experts, this move highlights Mövenpick’s ability to grow not only in numbers but also in efficiency and sustainable profitability, strengthening its position within Istanbul’s competitive luxury hospitality landscape.
