New Air Traffic Control Tower at Antalya Airport: A Strategic Infrastructure Investment Shaping the Industry

As of 2025, Antalya Airport is drawing attention with a major infrastructure investment that stands out in both the tourism and aviation sectors.

According to the project announced by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, a new 77-meter-tall air traffic control tower and a technical block will be constructed at Antalya Airport. The project aims to significantly enhance the airport’s operational capacity and ensure more efficient management of the rapidly increasing air traffic.

The new tower and technical block will cover a total indoor area of 11,100 square meters and will be built as a 14-story structure. The tower will include two support floors, an observation floor, and an operations floor. The terrace of the technical block will feature a 1,500-square-meter landscaped area, designed to provide employees with social and recreational space, thereby boosting workplace efficiency.

This investment is part of the expansion project that will raise Antalya Airport’s annual passenger capacity from 35 million to 82 million. With the opening of the new terminal buildings, the airport’s ability to deliver services that meet international standards will be further strengthened.

In 2025, Antalya Airport served 26,179,455 passengers, maintaining its position as one of Türkiye’s busiest airports. The sharp increase in both flight traffic and passenger volume, especially during the summer season, highlights the necessity of such large-scale infrastructure developments.

Through this project, Antalya Airport is evolving beyond a simple transportation hub to become a modern aviation center that meets all the requirements of contemporary air travel. Industry professionals emphasize that such strategic investments will contribute not only to the sustainability of regional tourism but also to the overall growth of the aviation sector.
