As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, Aquarabia Qiddiya City Water Theme Park is set to officially open on 23 April 2026. Located within the Qiddiya City entertainment cluster near Riyadh, the park goes beyond being the region’s largest water-themed facility, positioning itself as a strategic, experience-driven tourism destination.
Soft Opening and Operational Readiness
By late March 2026, the park had entered its soft opening phase, welcoming selected guests and testing operational infrastructure under real-world conditions. This period allows for data-driven optimization of visitor flows, ride capacity, and service quality ahead of the full-scale launch.
Record-Breaking Attractions and Unique Experiences
Aquarabia is not only the region’s largest water park but also the first Saudi-owned water park, aiming for four world records: World’s tallest water coaster, tallest drop body slide, tallest water slide, and longest mat racer. The park’s desert-themed narrative is reflected in the design of the landscape and attractions, with motifs inspired by antique oases and desert wells, creating an immersive and culturally integrated experience.
The park also features underwater adventure rides with fully submersible vehicles and an extreme water sports zoneoffering rafting, kayaking, canyoning, and cliff jumping. This hybrid and innovative design provides a multi-dimensional experience catering to a wide range of age and interest groups.
Innovation and Guest-Centered Design
Among its firsts, Aquarabia introduces Saudi Arabia’s first surf pool, delivering an active-leisure attraction beyond conventional water experiences. The park’s eight themed zones are strategically located to balance visitor flow and support full-day engagement. With 24 food-and-beverage outlets, shaded rest areas, and family-friendly social spaces, the design prioritizes comfort while maximizing visitor satisfaction in a warm climate.
Sustainability and Integrated Accommodation
Sustainability is central to Aquarabia’s infrastructure. Advanced recycled water systems for irrigation and cooling aim to reduce water waste by up to 90%, reflecting regional environmental objectives. Planned accommodations such as the Aquarabia Park Hotel offer direct access to the park, extending visitor stays and increasing lodging-related tourism revenues, positioning Aquarabia as a comprehensive economic asset within Qiddiya City.
Setting a New Standard in Experience Tourism
By combining cutting-edge technology with cultural thematic storytelling, Aquarabia establishes a new benchmark in experience-driven tourism. Record-breaking attractions like the World’s tallest water coaster, the Kingdom’s first surf pool, and fully immersive thematic design elevate the park beyond regional competition. With potential to create jobs, increase visitor duration, and boost per-visitor spending, Aquarabia strengthens Saudi Arabia’s global competitiveness in the leisure and entertainment sector.
